Here's some stuff you might like to know:
(sorry if some of it is repeated between the mission statement and the history)

Clan Riot Squad [RS] Mission Statement:

We at Clan Riot Squad or [RS] are a tight knit group of friends that enjoy playing games and chatting with each other. Many members talk outside of games and even hang out in real life when given the chance. We are primarily a FPS (First Person Shooter) clan. While some members do play other game types together such as RTS, MMORPG, and RPG, we do not recruit from those games.

We at Clan Riot Squad do not believe that quantity of recruits is better than quality of recruits. Some clans have several hundred members, but that is not our goal here. We prefer to keep our member count low, and in doing so everyone gets to know each other better.

We at Clan Riot Squad are an active, mature, gaming clan and the highest rank members can routinely be seen gaming along side of new recruits, or just hanging out on ventrilo. We do have a minimum age to join of 16 years old. While this is a very firm rule we do make exceptions from time to time, and invite people under the age of 16, but all such exceptions are at the sole discretion of the Founders.

Clan Riot Squad does have a system of ranks for members to attain, and respect must be given to those of rank for they are the ones who have been here for a long time, and they make this clan possible.

Clan Riot Squad is a veritable melting pot of people. We have members ranging from pre-teens to 40 year old gamers, we have people living in the far corners of the world, and members represent a wide array of origins, backgrounds, economic statuses, races, religions, genders, and sexual persuasions. We do not discriminate during recruiting or afterwards, and do not tolerate people who do.

Our core purpose is the enjoyment of gaming, and establishing a network of friends that can provide you with a constant source of competition.

SOME CLAN HISTORY:

How did [RS] start?

Clan Riot Squad [RS] was founded in 2003/2004 as a mature clan for gamers. Our first game was Halo PC. It was our main game that we played and recruited from. As time went on some members started to dabble in other game types, but the clan is still primarily a First Person Shooters clan. Nearly 3 years later we are still going strong as a mature FPS clan.

Who started [RS]?

[RS] was started by three guys from central Florida: Crash[RS] -- AKA Matthew or Matt, Lost[RS] -- AKA Joel, and AskaniSon[RS] -- AKA Timothy or Timmy. We all live in the same town and regularly played video games and Laser Tag together. We had been in the online gaming clan of SnD(Silent n Deadly). That clan was primarily for RTS games such as StarCraft and WarCraft3. After a healthy dose of drama, immaturity, and the song ENCORE (by Linkin Park and Jayz) we decided to strike out on our own. We were convinced that it was possible to form a clan on the basis of mature gamers having fun in game and on a forum in between games, a basis that not all video gamers acted like drama-obsessed middle-schoolers.

We founded [RS] on those principals, and invited those from SnD that we thought shared our goals. We were a small clan at first, numbering around 7. We played heavily on our self owned and run Halo server. It was Crash[RS]'s old Dell XPS desktop that cost him more than his last car. I bought it from him, and modded the case, now it is gunmetal with silver kicker stripes, neon green lighting throughout, and a custom etched Masterchief Lexan window. Our server was run in the style of the great predecessor VM Dedicated. We ran a clean server with NO SHIELDS, and a fun board rotation with plenty of sniping. We were stunned when people started asking how they could join our clan, how they could learn to play well...

Like they say: everything else is history...

How big is [RS] now?

[RS] has kept its policy of quality of recruits over quantity of recruits. We have around 40 members at the time of this post, and are looking to grow in a stable manner.

We lost Lost[RS] along the way due to management issues and attitude conflicts, and that just goes to show that we take our rules seriously and that we are not corrupt in who is immune.

Crash[RS] is still around and plays FPS from time to time, but most of his hours are consumed with working two jobs, spending time with his two wonderful daughters, and his very lively social life.

Askani[RS] (THAT?S ME!!!) is still around and can be found getting plasma grenades stuck to his feet in the Halo Server from time to time. I am going to try my hands at CSS and perhaps even BF. I also actively play WoW on a few different servers.

Are all [RS] members the same or are there levels?

The clan uses a rank structure based on U.S. Marines rank order and names, everything from enlisted recruits, all the way up to 4* General, then we have a few more ranks on top of that for leadership and administrative functions.

As you are in the clan, active, and behaving you will progress through ranks. You must earn your rank and work to keep it, we don't promote people just because they ask or win one game. Your rank is shown near your forum avatar, and with greater ranks comes greater perks, such as more forums to view, admin abilities on forums and servers, votes on important matters, etc.

Why are you making me read all this?

We are a gaming clan, but more than just that we are a tightly knit group of friends who hang out a lot. We want people to have a firm understanding of who we are, and how we got this way (pay no attention to Coolhair).

Will there be a quiz on this?

No, there is no quiz, per se, but in your application to us we will see how you act and whether you truly understand what we have here.
