Anyway, on a more serious note... I'm back and I'm going to revamp the site. I'm doing the site like I always used to.

Ohh you're so right, I never thought of it that way. Well, first off, the two tabs - roster and weather, I intended to restore to its original glory, it's just from some template configuration per skin that I haven't been able to get it up online. So really, those two tab pages were not really an issue and the link to the forum post was a temporary fix.

As for the skins, I'll bring them all back online and make the edits for the tabs. I'll create a system for Rev to add/remove/edit tab links up top and a way for me to easily mirror major changes and tweaks into the other skins. They're all just color and background variants of the original vB4 skin, which I personally hate, but I won't let my personal opinion on this be an issue.

First of all, I've eliminated the option of additional skins. Why? Because choice is baaaaaaaaaaad! No, not really. Alright, but why did I really eliminate the option to change skins? With a single skin, I can provide a much higher level of quality and support in minimal time. The additional skins were pretty horribad anyway.

As for the back end.... I've killed the additional tabs plugin and manual edited the navbar and I plan on completely removing disabled plugins after I make the backup in case of failure. But.. but.. Lurk, it's so much harder to add/remove/edit tabs. :( -- well, we're killing an additional query (I think? Who knows, who cares, this is better on a few levels) and getting the tabs in the order we want them. Who thought of a home tab being placed 3rd?

Lurk: meh another update is underway. both those tabs will be back online faster than CoolHair can make Tail come.

Yeah? What about the side bar? -- I know I like that thing too. It'll be back up when I figure out what I did wrong here. Until then, bash on other shit I didn't mention here.

So.... what do we have left?! Nothing much, really. I pretty much covered everything in the above big wall of text. What's next on the to-do list besides the tabs? The home page could use a little work and minor tweaks and fixes here and there. This isn't perfect.. yet.

Oh yeah, on a side note, I need all of your signatures in transparent PNG format. Future proof for any changes and logos we may have in the future.

Lurk the work you do is definitely appreciated, but please take this into mind. First, Revenge has put a ton of hard work into finding new skins for us to enjoy and keeping the forum up to date with different changes as well as keeping it running smoothly since you left so just deleting them isn't the best choice right off the bat. Second, the roster tab up top was not the one it is directing to now and Conky put a ton of work into making that other roster page which now has disappeared. So basically it would be better if you can first touch base with Rev, Conky, or even me to see what has been done before taking any actions.

I was looking at the other skins and was wondering if there ever was a sidebar? I don't recall if there ever was.

I'm going to shift this to a substyle of the main skin for any edits you have made. If there's an underlying major problem somewhere that was overlooked, switch the default. From my tests and checks, everything seemed to check out.

Anyway, I'll get in touch with you tomorrow. Sometimes I forget that this is for a tight knit group of people rather than a large audience of users and that web standards don't apply here since it's custom tailored to what you guys want.

Until then, have a good one and at least try to use it as I still believe we need a consistent default that's presented to the general public. If all else fails, I'll tweak the system of updating the original styles on here for performance, consistency, and ease of use.

Lurk, Sorry this long but I had a lot to say.

I am not sure were to start on this one.
This morning my anger was about through the roof. In fact I notified Trade of my intentions so as he would have a heads up. I wasn't looking for his agreement only giving notice that I was about to completely remove all admin abilities and change the ftp access.

After calming and reviewing I realized that everything you have done, has been done with good intentions just not proper consideration. Your web knowledge is valuable and appreciated.

What you need to see is that if you would use that knowledge to do things that people ask for, instead of what you desire. It would be received with greater appreciation than you can imagine.

Making changes without asking, Ignoring request and making unkept promises only leads to anger, aggravation and frustration.


Lurk we have been friends a long time. So I say these things and give the examples below to help not to insult. You are capable of so much if you would just take the time to look around and consider those around you.

Reasons my frustration has reached this point:

1 - Our main page started acting strange went down at the very end of 2008. After I attempted to fix our game banners and couldn't I made a post requesting that you look into it with the new banner info. That was Jan 2009. For a few weeks trade and I went back and forth but the main would not update.
Then 3 Months later you made a new thread asking for the banner info so you could fix it. After I gave you the info a second time along with a link to original thread. You asked me to consolidate the two threads like it was my fault you didn't want to take the time to reply in the proper thread. I ignored the ignorance of the post not wanting to offend you and prolong getting it fixed.
Well that didn't work anyway because 2 months "may 2009" later I posted again asking if you were ever going to get around to fixing the banners. You responded the main page seems to down and that you would update and fix it that weekend.
Well not long after that broken promise the main page got hacked and I just created a redirect to the forums.

2 - I don't recall the exact date but you decided to leave the clan some time in mid 2009 making the announcement and removing your tag. At the time you announced this getting your help on anything was by far more of a hassle than the help was worth and figured maybe it was amid your best interest to move on. Your admin and FTP access were never removed due to the fact that you earned that respect and privilege long before most here were members.
Our site was working, granted a few issues but all issues could have easily been fixed.
Then out of nowhere without asking you decided you would upgrade our site to the newest version out. No consulting, No hesitation, no backing files up.
Needless to say the upgrade had some issues. So now not only do we still not have a main page that you had promised to look into a year ago we didn't have a shoutbox and the skin you had installed had major issues.
What did you do?
Nothing!
Several weeks went by and Ricky from THO seeing how bad our forums were offered to take the time to show me/ help me fix our website. PS: Thanks Again Rick!
he took a weekend with me showing how to edit and install mods,skins,.... He helped me get a new front page back up, Install a new shoutbox and replace the skin with one that did not have issues. This all lead me to my 3rd issue.

3 - All through the help Ricky was giving me I had to use his forum license due to the fact I don't have our info you do. To download mods and updates. So he gets the notification emails whenever stuff happens with mods and so forth. I asked nicely for you to give me our info on 2-12-10.
You replied give me your email. Now aside from the fact that there are many ways to privately give it to me here i posted my email info again for you.
A week later I re-posted asking for the info after double checking my email. You replied you forgot your info so give you a few to find the password recovery link.
Another 8 days later still no email I asked again politely stating it was embarrassing to be using Ricky's.
Well that last post was in the end of Feb. At that point I figured that you know what the heck with it I'll just wait be patient and sooner or later I'll just tell trade I need him to give it to me because you won't.
Well it wasn't finished there because Ricky even got involved after my last post and spoke with you about it on aim to which you then told him you would send it to me.
Anyway I still don't have it. After speaking with Trade on the phone earlier I will be getting it from him.

4 - Now after announcing to the clan you are done and you no longer taking the role of webmaster here you pop back here without consulting anyone and decide you are going undo the many hours of work and pride that many here have put into the site because you believe your improvements are better than what they have done.
The banner Conky spent hours remaking from a half completed version Bink had because you deleted the old name banner when you upgraded.
The weather link and page I created.
The custom Ranks page Conky created the had url links attributed to everyones name taking them directly to there homepage.
The default skin I had in place and had made custom edits to.
When someone spends hours and puts pride in there work you don't just delete it because you feel your is better. You offer improvements not devastation.

Obviously you took time to tweak the skin you created and its appreciated but others here took a lot of time creating and editing the things they did only to see you wipe them out in an instant.

You still have Admin and FTP for I know anything you will ever do here will be with good intentions but please consider those that are here and there request first.:)

I just now read this thread closely. I just want to say.
Rev, dont feel bad that your using my stuff. I dont care at all. Its no problem.

This clan has helped me so much in the past when you did not have to. So i have no problem putting in time for you all. I basically feel like im in the clan but im not. I have no problem helping with anything i can.

If you all ever need help dont hesitate at all. This stuff is something i enjoy doing. :ba
