Is your RS server Halo 1, 2, or 3?

Halo 1 PC.

Halo's 2 and 3 are total noobified. Most of us never even bothered with 2 or 3. No dull weapons or guided guns in one. Halo 1 you still needed to at least aim or like in randy's case a few random "hack" nades works.:D

You can pick it up for like $20, and get totally owned at it like me, because you keep trying to knife. But if you want to get good, [RS] are the guys to play against.

I heard that the online can be laggy, is it? And are a lot of people still online?

Our server is crazy laggy for me, and I'm just starting to play Halo, but it's a boat load of fun so I'd highly recommend it. Take the money you would have wasted on that cheap hooker and buy it.

still about 800 servers on average, mind you there were only 500ish a few years ago, its actually growing in popularity

Ok I'll have to explain this clearer. When you play Halo PC online you always have to lead in accordance with ping. This is usualy refered to as lag and all of us call it that but actualy its not. Halo PC is server side run so you have shoot were the guy will be when your bullet arives not were he is at when you fire. The higher your ping the farther the lead.
Once you get used to leading your shot its usualy just a matter of adjusting according to your ping on that particular server. Of course having a lower ping greatly reduces your lead whats more important however is a consistent ping.
If your ping keeps bouncing around then your lead is constantly changing. This is what you need to watch for most when trying different servers.

True lag does happen in Halo like any other game on occasion when this happens like most games a player will start warping like in CSS.

I love Halo and when it first came out for the XBox, I was instantlly an addict. Then, I get to play it here, w/ the rest of you (hackers), "pros", and I get pwned all the time. The "lead thing", I try to get figured out, but i don't get it. How you you compensate for ping in your aim,..like if the cross hair is on a target, as it moves, where or how far ahead of the target should it be? (depends on the ping, I know), but, like 1/16th or 1/4 inch off target? I'm sure that's the master secret, that I'll probably never understand. But anyway, When I get to feeling better, I'll have to reinstall the game and try it out and learn some more. :nw
