I've said it before and I'll say it again: Always use protection. :D
But that sucks man, wish I could help.
Download, burn, install. In the end, piracy always wins.

Personally, I don't use protection. The experiences I've had with protection substantially slowed down my comp. I'm not saying that you shouldn't use it, but if you're careful, you can get by without it.

I DONT USE PROTECTION, BUT DAMMIT MAN, YOU GOTTA BE CAREFUL, MY WIFE DOESN'T DO CUSTOM INSTALLS, AND NEXT THING YOU KNOW I HAVE 6 FUCKIN TOOLBARS AND MY BROWSER IS BEING REDIRECTED.........LEMME LOOK MAN, I MAY HAVE A PIRATED VERSION OF XP I CAN SEND YOU FOR FREE, BUT U PAY SHIPPING, I CAN SEND YOU A WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER CD THAT AUTO INSTALLS FOR EMACHINES, AND YOU CAN TRY THAT ALSO, BUT YOU HAVE TO PROMISE TO NEVER UPDATE IT OR ELSE WE'RE BOTH F**&ED, ITS LEGAL, BUT ONLY FOR ME :). THIS IS WHAT I CAN DO TO HELP A FRIEND CLAN DOOD IN TROUBLE, AND I'D BE HAPPY TO DO IT FOR YA. OR, I COULD UPLOAD THE CONTENTS INTO BEARS' ZOMBIE FTP'S IN A FOLDER SOMEWHERE AND YOU CAN DL IT THERE, YOU LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DECENT DEAL TO YOU MAN. BEST OF LUCK SIR

Don't you a neighbor or friend localy that has windows XP? If you have a valid key for that you only need to borrow the CD to install it and give it back.
i know I got a key for the pro edition so I will try that tonight hopfully before our practice! you would think a home disc would be easy to come by with friends, but i have no friends that have one! Morons all throw them away!!! wtf seems im in that category now too dagum!@ oh well thanks for the help crepping. I will let you know if this works!

I don't think downloading it from the internet is illegal. The only illegal part would be to use a pirated key, which you would not be doing. You could also get microsoft to send you a replacement disk I believe. Just have to pay shipping.
Don't install Home, it sucks.
If you have a legitimate pro key and just need a install CD let me know, we can work something out.
