I'm looking to buy a new pistol, mostly for my wife. She handled the glock 27 and 22 pretty well, but i'm not sure what i should get her. obviously the 27 had more kickback, but it's more compact.
i'm not set on glock, but she seemed to like those.
any suggestions, hints, or help would be great!

Springfield XD sub-compact 9mm. Perfect size for a chick, and it won't bite her.

plus its a very safe gun, it has a palm guard safety like a 1911 and a trigger safety like a glock.
I loathe glocks.
You might try a Para .45 ACP variant, heavy enough to dissapate most kick, and you don't feel like the f'in thing is going to fly out of your hands when you've only got 2 rounds left in the magazine.

The X wife like our Glock 31C and Taurus Pt957ss we had. Both chambered for .357 Sig. A necked down 40 cal caseing w/ a 9/38 cal bullet squeed on top. Has good stopping power,..high capasity. Glocks have a few nice, sub compact models, good for small woman hands and for easy conceal carry. I like the good old 1911 45. Boorah! But, again, it just really depends on what she feels comfortable with. Take her to a gun shop or gun show, and let her look around,..drool,..get ideas.

I don't have any guns, I am Canadian. So, I was sitting here thinking, if someone broke into my home what could I use to fend them away? What's my most dangerous weapon?? Apparently, this is it

1911 Colt is the way to go. Anybody know where I can find one?
toastmonster[RS]

they don't sell them to individuals anymore, in fact, i don't think colt makes any new models for sale to individuals. at least that's what my friend who's a colt fanatic tells me. i know the springfield 1911 is the closest thing to it that you can buy new.

$ 20=A box of ammo, of decent target loads. Had a 22lr conversion kit for my AR15..just as much fun to shoot, but alot cheaper. But, 22's are so messy.

;25052']i'm trying to find a decent ar15 or similar AR to buy.
Another idea is, get a parts book/manual,..and a ar15 parts kit. They are easy to assemble. I had two, that i put together. The lower receiver is the only part that has to be registered, and then you can buy any or combonations of upper receivers that you want. From 9mm, .45, .222, .223(5.56nato),..etc. Even, some uppers are chamber in 308, 50 cal, that you can use a regular ar15 lower, and its a single shot weapon. Search the web, and you'll see what I mean. Then, there's the SR-20, which is a .308 . A bigger version of the ar15, just pnly chambered in .308. And og course with an ar15, you can get a barrel or upper assembly, in ranges of 7 1/2 inches(pistol model= the gov says to register it as a pistol for any barrel length less than 10 or so inches. Ask johnny, he would know better). But anyway, 7 1/2 inches , up to 26 inches ,..maybe longer. It's been a while sense i went to a gun show, which is the best plase to go. If you can assemble a pc from parts, you can put an ar15 together. It's pie man! Of course, we, as in military guys,(johnny, me,..??), can tell ya, we have had hours of "play" time w/ the M16/or M4. and you can take it apart(feild strip), and reassemble the weapon, in two minutes or less. (witch was par) I love the ar15/m16/m4. So many things you can mod the weapon with. it's light, easy to take care of, and accurate. Then of course, there's the AK47! :D . The world's most produced weapon in the world. I had one, and I got Shangus Kahn, to fall in love with it. He had two. DA Bears has one. It's a great weapon. Alot less parts than the ar15. Not as easily to put togethr from a parts kit, but it can be done.over 20 different models floating put there. The best is an Russian or Bulgarian. MILLED receivers are #1, and don't settle for less. Then the Chinese models with the stamped receives, are just as good. Again, 16 in barrels is par, but you can get parts kit, with a 7 inch barrel, and range up to 20. Anyway,..just a few suggestion. Next time i'll think about double spacing and checking for errors,..but i dought it! :D
