As it is now, once you manually apply the Live update on the Halo 2 support page, you can log in and see the Live games currently going on. You just can't join any games or parties.

This might offer some hope: http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/804/804420p1.html

If Live would support XP, then I bet somebody will get it to work.

AR or Tail, have you guys had a problem with your game on the level Gravemind? My game keeps telling me to put in the disk. It's in there but nothing happens.
